Neighborhood safety is a priority as identified in surveys and meetings of Webber-Camden residents and nonprofit organizations during a time of increasing crime. The Webber-Camden Neighborhood Organization is designating a Neighborhood Safety Fund that can be used for safety equipment for residents and nonprofit organizations within proposed program guidelines.
WCNO plans to use $10,000 to support these efforts, if you have any comments or input please let us know at patricia@wcno.org or by attending our December board meeting. For specific details see below.
WCNO will update it’s Events and Services Strategy to include the line: “New programs may be created to address safety and community building issues that arise in the neighborhood.” and will utilize $10,000 in the strategy for this program. These funds are Neighborhood Revitalization Program (NRP) Phase II funds, specifically: NRP Design/Implement Programs, Events and Services strategy (Phase II Plan, Public Safety and Community Building 1.C.1), which can be seen in this chart.
