The Vision Zero capital program rapidly installs cost-effective safety improvements on “high injury streets.” The City anticipated Vision Zero quick-build improvements on the following four corridors to be installed in 2021; however, given supply chain challenges, improvements on these four corridors will occur in spring 2022:

  • Dowling Avenue North from Penn Avenue North to I-94.
  • Monroe Street NE from Lowry Avenue NE to Broadway Street NE.
  • East 36th Street from Nicollet Avenue to Columbus Avenue.
  • East 42nd Street from Lyndale Avenue South to Bloomington Avenue.

Besides the four corridors above, the City will implement Vision Zero quick-build improvements on several more corridors in 2022.

Find more information on the program on the City website, including a map of planned safety improvements to high injury streets.

The City has created an interactive map where you can report traffic safety concerns along high injury streets. Public feedback and crash data will help create safety improvements as part of the Vision Zero Capital Program.

Staff will share more details on planned improvements for individual 2022 corridors starting in March. Installation will happen in spring and summer.
